The pupils in Willow Class chose an exciting option to make Playdough from scratch. As a class we researched a recipe online and followed the instructions step by step. Whilst this is a great, fun activity to do it also supports the children’s development in many ways. By poking, rolling, and squishing Playdough, children develop the small muscles in their fingers and hands. They also gain strength and improve dexterity in their hands and fingers, critical areas of physical development for writing, drawing, and other purposes. The children took their own homemade Playdough home and are very pleased with the results.
