Welcome to a very special place known as ‘The Willows’ at Oakfield House School.
The Willows has been specially developed to support the learning needs of children with autism and complex needs. The Willows is located in a former stable block and is surrounded by landscaped gardens to provide a peaceful and tranquil setting for our children. The Willows offers a more personalised curriculum developed in conjunction with relevant therapist to help promote communication and independence until the National Curriculum can be accessed.
Our curriculum is highly creative and motivating for a wide range of children’s abilities and re-engages reluctant learners and strengthens the whole learning experience. Our staff at The Willows are skilled and experienced in working with children with ASC and have expertise in working with visual prompts and timetables, PECS, TEACCH, and Objects of Reference.
As a Nurture school we work hard to provide a calm, supportive and warm caring environment in which our children can flourish, and begin to achieve and be the very best that they can in all areas of their development. Underpinning what we do is value and respect for the young person and for the valuable contribution they make to our school.
